What is Tiger Readers?

Tiger Readers Foundation is an early intervention reading program that supports students in Pre-K – 2 nd Grade.  We work alongside teachers to provide students who need extra support with letter recognition, reading and writing skills.

Research shows that most of a child’s brain development occurs within the first few years of life.  A child’s brain grows to more than 90% of an adult size by the age of three.  In Texas 26% of children ages 1-5 are read to less than 3 days per week and recognize the letters of the alphabet. Children who are read to at home are more likely to be able to count to 20 or higher than their peers. They are also more likely to be able to write their name and begin to read.

Tiger Readers was founded to help teachers and parents close the gaps in early reading readiness.
