Aging requires planning at various steps along the way.  We all know that we should have our legal and financial affairs in order, but then what are other ways that we can plan?

In deciding how to plan, you have to consider some important factors such as the distance from family and potential care givers.  Here were some tips to consider in your long term aging plan:

* Do you have the financial resources to stay in your current home?  If yes, will it need modifications (wheel chair accessible)?

* Do you have family close enough to assist with up keep and care giving needs?

* Are you close to healthcare and medical resources?

* If you can't keep or stay in your home, what will your financial resources allow?

* If you move, what will you do with your personal belongings and how will you deliver them to who you want to have them?

* What type of home will be ideal for you, for instance a senior living facility, smaller home, family?

Downsizing is never easy and you may need assistance in home inventory of belongings, sorting and downsizing, repurposing belongings, packing, moving, and new home set up.
