USAF Retired Colonel Robert Garland

THE INSPIRING EAGLE FOUNDATION

Colonel Robert Garland, U.S.A.F. Retired

Colonel Garland retired in 2013 and chose Dripping Springs as their home based on school, location, and the fact that they kept ending up at the intersection of RR 12 and Hwy 290 as they searched for a home in the general area.  He has a servant's heart and founded The Inspiring Eagle Foundation to transform lives and inspire excellence.  He and his team of veterans make presentations and help organizations and their people be the bet they can be.  He serves as the Commander of the VFW/American Legion in Dripping Springs.  Some highlights from his presentation:
  • American freedom and democracy is exceptional - just travel the world and you will see why.
  • Freedom isn't free.
  • Exceptional leads to Greatness.
  • Greatness is defined by 4 characteristics.
    • Humility
    • Generous with everything
    • Grateful
    • Service before self
America's combat readiness:
  • Has taken a hit in recent years with lack of personnel and training.
  • We are still the best equipped nation in the world
  • We have a lack of systems upgrades (it takes 20 years to develop a new system)
  • We have exceptional people and need to provide them exceptional equipment and tools

Pre-need Planning, David Ives

Why Pre-need Planning?

David Ives, Harrell Funeral Home

Get started for "free" with your pre-need planning at www.BeRemembered.com

This free service allows you to upload pictures, videos, songs, and vital information for your service when the time comes.  You can assign a guardian and have all of your needs met.  The site allows you to input your birth date, social security number and other vital information necessary at time of death.  The system will even automatically send emails from your site and pre-determined dates or occasions after your death.  Check it out.

Pre-need Planning vs Pre-Funding

Pre-need planning is taking care of all the details of the arrangements where pre-funding is insurance to cover the costs of the event.
David shared some materials to be used in your pre-planning plans.  If you wish to have copies of those documents, reach out to Bill Parmeter

Some fun information about our speaker, David Ives:
* He was former president of the Rotary Club in Marble Falls
* He knew funeral services was in calling in high school
* In 1982 he got to see the exhumed body of Lee Harvey Oswald (Bill Parmeter actually went to 3rd grade with Lee Harvey Oswald)
