Scott Burns is a syndicated newspaper columnist and author who is legendary to the long-time readers of the Dallas Morning News. He is also a recent Dripping Springs transplant. He has covered investments and personal finance for 40 years and is famous for his “Couch Potato Portfolio” investment strategy—a simple approach that allows non-professionals to achieve better results than the vast majority of professional investors. The website “AssetBuilder” which he co-founded, contains many advice-packed articles. In 2012, MIT Press published a book he co-authored, titled “The Clash of Generations: Saving Ourselves, Our Kids, and Our Economy.” Scott Burns has recently written columns on the new proposal to reform Social Security and will discuss that topic with us.
